salience

August 5, 2003

I can tell you it's been been on going since May 23rd.
It was my third day at GEPS when I got my computer, desk, phone, etc.
His office is cady corner from where I sit.

I can't tell you who he is, really.
All I know about him are
Pieces he tells others.

I can tell you he is tall, with dark hair and dark eyes.
He goes to the gym on his lunch hour,
Every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.

I can't tell you where he went to school.
Yet he has his own office, so his Alma
Mater has to be pretty prestigious.

I can tell you his name is Dean.
And I live for his voice and the days
He spends on conference calls.

I can't tell you how many kids he has.
But he is always telling someone about
The vacation he's planning for them.

I can tell you his wife is blonde:
From the Glamor Shot Maneesh
And I found in his office.

I can't tell you why, but he stops at
My desk at least twice a day
To make random comments.

I can tell you I practically jump out of my skin
When he watches me make my hourly
Trip to the water purifier in the break room.

I can't tell you how long it's been since I've had a
Fourth grade crush. I constantly fight the urge to
Grab the red dry erase marker...

I can tell you he is the closest thing
To Prince I have ever seen in real life.
Sans eyeliner, of course.

I can't tell you my exact heart rate when his eyes
Catch mine through the glass wall of his office.
I have to remind myself to breathe.

I can tell you I will leave him a secret admirer note
Before I leave for school. Maybe even on the glass wall
of his office. Someone should use this lonely marker...

I can't tell you what would happen to his kids, but
Every time he proposes to me, with a ring bigger than JLo's
In my dreams, he kisses me and I say yes.
