To continue my new year's resolution of seeing more live shows this year, Ryan and I went to the Tool performance at the All Points West Festival at Liberty State Park Saturday night.

Liberty State Park is in Jersey City, NJ, right across the Hudson River from Manhattan. We took the ferry from Battery Park (passing the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island) to get there. It was amazing to see both as the sun was setting. Even more so was watching a concert of one of my favorite bands with Lady Liberty in the background. Tool put on a great show, despite the time we had making it through the shin deep mud in the park from all of the rain we've had. On the subway back you could spot all of the festival goers by the amount of dried mud on their clothes, a sort of music badge. Only in New York City, right? Nevertheless it was a great time, and the weather was perfect for our show.
