salience
December 28, 2003
This time, it's cramped. Low ceilings enclose upon visitors. Nurses and assistants add to the claustrophobia, each with his own version of the really-I'd-rather-be-anywhere-else face, pushing past in any hallway. Fake flowers are everywhere, placed purposely in dark corners of quiet rooms. There's an air of caution around them, as if everyone is secretly wondering just how much the false pastels of these carnations pale the life which sustains the medical bills we collect.
Everything is slow motion.
It's the same, sterile dream.
Just a different hospital.
Everything is slow motion.
It's the same, sterile dream.
Just a different hospital.
