After a relatively quiet New Year's Eve last year (our traumatic, unsuccessful trip the St. Thomas and the resulting 48 hours of travel mess thanks to winds), it was nice to spend this New Year's Eve with our dear friends. Not only to celebrate us being engaged for a year (my how time flies!), but Ryan's best friend since preschool, Geoff, and his lady, Julie, came up to stay with us. As did MyShell. All three ironically from the DC area. We all went to Cafe Wha in the East Village to see their amazing house band's live show (and our wedding band) perform into the new year. We met Vito and Dave, my two brothers from other mothers, there. And oh did we have a fantastic time! Plus, it was great for our two best friends (and the Best Man and Maid of Honor) to meet ahead of April 30th. Who knew they would both have an affinity for bursting into song randomly when out in public, especially when it comes to old Disney movies?
